  Preeclampsia - Risk

Am I in a risk for preeclampsia?

Unfortunately, despite extensive research no one knows what causes preeclampsia. However the risk increases for women carrying multiple fetuses, for women over forty, diabetics and women with chronic high blood pressure. There is also a higher risk in women of African descent, in the first pregnancy than in subsequent ones or if your or your partner’s mother had preeclampsia. A lack of vitamin C and E and magnesium has been noted in women with this ailment, highlighting the need for careful diet.
