  Weight Gain – How much?

How much weight should I gain? Eating for two doesn’t mean doubling your calories, but not gaining enough weight is dangerous. Lower birth weight babies tend to have smaller heads and smaller brains, which has been linked with lower IQ. Doctors usually recommend women gain between 12 and 18 kg. Gain enough weight for the baby to grow adequately. Too much weight gain can lead to a large baby and a difficult delivery.
