Information about Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a viral liver infection spread through contact with infected body fluids. A newborn can contract the disease during birth if the mother is infected. The incubation period can range from 6 weeks to 6 months. The damage to the liver can be permanent and death is a possibility.
The side- effects of the three vaccinations, given at 6,10, and 14 weeks, are mild and short-lived usually.
