Reasons not to induce

My doctor has told me that he will not induce me even if labor does not start by itself. What can the reason be?

Reasons for not inducing can range from breech or sideways babies to multiple births. A low placenta or placenta previa could be a reason not to induce. In addition, the size of the baby in relation to your pelvis, the existence of a vertical scar from a previous delivery, or the presence of the genital herpes virus could all influence your doctor to avoid this procedure.
