Information about Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is a viral liver infection spread mainly by contaminated food or contact with infected individuals. After an incubation time of around 28 days, the patient can be ill for a year, and the disease can be fatal.

The vaccine is administered at 12 months and again at 18 months, and side-effects are usually mild and short lived.
